This “Letter Declining Salary Increase Request” is used by an employer to decline the request of an employee for an early or premature raise.
Assuming your employee meets the organization's performance expectations and his employment records demonstrate that he makes valuable contributions to the organization, you probably would like to grant his request for a salary increase. But there may be a number of reasons why you can't, which you must explain to him when you decline such a request. The reasons might be related to company policy on raising salaries, budget constraints or the timing of his request. At any rate, you should write a letter and meet with him privately to explain why you declined the request. |
