This notice is used by a company to demand the handover of its property, assets and information that is under the possession of a previous employee. It states that if the previous employee fails to return the said items and information, legal action may be initiated against him/her.
It is in the best interest of the employer to include a “Return of Property upon Termination” clause in the employment contract to provide legal grounds for the company to seek legal action.
Once the employee has handed over the company’s materials, the company should sign an acknowledgement of receipt of its property and send it to the previous employee.
